Can Marriage increase your net worth from $2 million to $200 million? Hailey Baldwin might have the answer
If the age old
superstition that 'marriage can open the doors to endless fortune' is believed
to be true, then Hailey Baldwin, for one, is sure to go by it. For her marriage
to Justin Bieber in late 2018 is bound to make a 'belieber' out of people about
how marriage can work wonders for some; in Baldwin's case, a ridiculous boom in
her combined net worth from $2 million to over $200 in less than just two years
into marriage.
A little backstory
Hailey Baldwin
was never a stranger to the ins and outs of the world of showbiz. If the name
Baldwin does not ring a bell yet for some of you, it should be revealed that
Hailey comes from a background of widely famous and popular actors and
entertainment personalities.
She is the
daughter of the actor Stephen Baldwin, and her list of uncles include
actor/producer William Baldwin, Daniel Baldwin and the most illustrious of them
all, Alec Baldwin. Being surrounded by such celebrities since her childhood, it
allowed her an early access into the fame industry.
The very first
exposure Hailey Baldwin enjoyed at the start of her modeling career was when
she received a stint from the New York based agency Ford Models in 2014. Soon
after that she got to pose for popular magazines like Tatler, LOVE, V and i-D.
This helped her create a buzz for herself which bought her the opportunity to
appear in her first successful commercial campaign with the clothing line
French Connection in the winter of 2014.
Baldwin put
her first step on the runway in October 2014 for Topshop, featuring designs of
the fashion designer Soniya Rykiel. She went on to appear in American Vogue, Teen Vogue in January 2015, and
then her first ever magazine cover for Jalouse
Magazine in April with male model Lucky Blue Smith. She followed that up
with two more cover-shoots in the same month for L'Officiel Dutch edition and Wonderland
Magazine. Her first major runaway gig took off as she participated in Ralph
Lauren’s ad campaign. She landed some more gigs in runway for designers Tommy
Hilfiger and Philip Plein. From there on she began to open up more
opportunities for herself, not just in the world of fashion but also
television, as she started co-hosting and announcing in award ceremonies like
the 2015 MTV Europe Music Awards.
All this has
supposedly gained Baldwin an enviable net income of about $2 million for
someone so young and barely over 1 year of modeling experience.
Dating Bieber, Publicity, and The Wheel of Fortune
It was in late
2015 when Hailey Baldwin started dating Justin Bieber, although it lasted for
just one month. The relationship brought Baldwin under spotlight like never
before. With the increasing publicity came a more hefty work schedule as
lucrative opportunities started to pour in. From high-profile festivals paying
loud sums for getting Baldwin to influence her followers on Instagram, to
clothing lines begging to collaborate with her, every possible entity in
entertainment wanted to cash in on the publicity of the relationship, and was
willing to pay ridiculously so.
Hailey Baldwin
too knew how to play her cards right, and stacked up on the most profitable
endorsements. The most successful of these were collaborations in 2016 with
clothing brand The Daily Edited promoting a handbag capsule collection labeled
as #theHAILEYedited collection and in the same year with footwear brand Public
Desire. She also launched her own mak-up collection in 2016 in collaboration
with Australian brand ModelCo.
Under this
very same influence of publicity her modeling career was elevated. For the
second time Hailey Baldwin was chosen for a Ralph Raulen ad campaign. She
started featuring in more magazine shoots and editorials such as Self Magazine, Marie Claire, Glamour
Magazine and Italian Vogue to
name a few. Baldwin made increasing appearances in advertise campaigns for
clothing brand H&M and GUESS advertising. She further appeared
on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar and
was featured in the editorial of French Elle.
It was as if
the gift keeps on giving for Hailey Baldwin as she successfully bagged in more
endorsement from UGG footwear
campaign and a ‘style creator’ role from Adidas. Her runway career on the other
hand also earned some achievement points as she got to be the face of Karl
Lagerfield’s limited edition clothing line-Love
From Paris.
In 2017,
Hailey Baldwin became the host of the hit TBS show Drop the Mic, which features celebrities rapping and harmless trash
talking.
Wedding Bells and Bank Cheques
After Baldwin
reconciled with Bieber on May 2018, the couple got engaged in July and married
in November. Once again there was all the media frenzy surrounding their
marriage and both of them were smart to take advantage of it. While Hailey
Baldwin would rake in endorsements from all directions, Biebet on the other hand
was earning his shares from concerts, royalties and endorsements. According to
Forbes, Bieber’s gross income between the year 2017 and 2018 is approximately
$83.5 million.
As of 2019,
Hailey Baldwin is one of the top models for IMG Models and continues to feature
in fashion shows for Karl Lagerfield, Tory Burch, Dolce & Gabbana and more.
She also scored a hosting opportunity for the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
This led to Celebrity Net Worth sites estimating Justin Bieber and Hailey
Baldwin's net worth to be approximately
$265
million.
As you can
tell, while Baldwin and Bieber are not romancing, the are busy exploring every
possibility to cash in their talent and fame for riches.
